RMSEL Volunteers
Each family attending RMSEL is asked to volunteer 20 hrs per year per family. The hours can be earned in numerous ways such as:
-
supporting classrooms and/or teachers on campus
-
helping teachers prepare/execute expeditionary projects
-
offering expertise in an area of learning
-
stuffing Friday Folders (k-5 only)
-
become a Crew Parent (often called a "room parent" at other schools)
-
hosting a student for their high school mini internship experience at your business
-
chaperoning crew trips
-
chaperoning fieldwork
-
helping plan/execute RMSEL events
-
serving on a PTSC committee
...and SO much more!

Become a Volunteer:
All volunteers are required to have a background check completed before they can become a RMSEL volunteer! Please complete the volunteer application below. The volunteer application also has information on obtaining bus certification. We are always in need of people willing to drive a bus!

Crew Trip & Fieldwork Chaperones
RMSEL staff cannot make crew trips and fieldwork successful without the support of volunteers! Please reach out to your Crew Leader on how to volunteer on crew trips and fieldwork.
Wilderness First Responder
If you are Wilderness First Responder Certified and would like to serve as a WFR on a Crew Trip, please contact RMSEL's Adventure Coordinator Philip Sousa at psousa@RMSEL.org.
Bus Driver Certification
Every time a crew leaves campus for field work, we need at least one parent volunteer to drive a bus. If you would like to become bus certified, please contact Philip Sousa at psousa@RMSEL.org.
PTSC Committees
If you would like to serve on a PTSC Committee, please contact Ruthie Beugg at PTSC@RMSEL.org.
